H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is the reincarnation of the earliest primordial Buddha, Dorje Chang Buddha. Throughout the history of Buddhism, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is the only Buddha who has been recognized as such by leaders, regent dharma kings, and great rinpoches of various Buddhist sects all over the world in accordance with the Buddhist recognition system. H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is the only recognized Buddha in this world after Shakyamuni Buddha in the past few thousand years. In the Senate Resolution No. 614 of the United States Congress, the title "His Holiness" was officially used with the name Dorje Chang Buddha III.
In 2011, the then Mayor of Washington, D.C. proclaimed January 19th as "H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Day." The Unites States Postal Service also issued a commemorative cover in celebration of "His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III Day." With the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum opening in June of 2014, the US Postal Office approved and issued a special post mark of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum.
In 2018, America's national flag was raised in the United Stated Capital to celebrate the birthday of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump congratulated the birthday of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. The United States Postal Service then issued a first day cover to commemorate this flag raising event. This year (2019), the United States Postal Service issued another first day cover depicting H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha seated in lotus position on a lotus flower on the 20th anniversary of the International Day of Vesak.
In the past few thousand years, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is the only Buddha who stays in this world after Shakyamuni Buddha. Thus, the first day covers of H.H.
